The small School of Applied Studies has 400 university students, 52 percent of these are international students primarily from India, Mongolia, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Maldives and Germany. These international students are some of the best in the field and using study abroad programs, they are learning in the heart of Singapore. The chance to learn about new culture, country, and work with other international students as they gain their higher education is a huge draw for these university students. The globalization of the world is recognized by the School of Applied Studies, the faculty members encourage the local students to work with the international students as much as possible so that both groups of university students may learn from each other, allowing both sides to gain from the study abroad programs.

The School of Applied Studies has a large campus at the heart of Singapore. Extremely close to a subway station, university students can come and go from the campus easily and efficiently, ensuring that even international students will feel comfortable exploring Singapore knowing they can find the campus with little trouble in an emergency. Containing eight classrooms of various sizes, the School of Applied Studies uses top of the line lecturing equipment for its classes. Computers are available within the campus for student use, as well as wireless internet throughout the campus. A library is available for research and a quiet writing environment. There is also a recreation room for students to discuss their classes or to relax with friends after class.
