Our privacy policy is clear and simple: We will collect no personally identifiable information about you when you visit our website or use our services unless you choose to provide that information to us.

What Does our Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy covers studdex.com’s treatment of personally identifiable information that studdex.com collects when you are on the studdex.com site and when you use studdex.com’s services.  This policy does not describe or cover information collection policies on other sites, including those linked to or from Studdex.com.

No Children under the Age of 13

studdex.com is not directed to children under the age of 13, and children under the age of 13 shall not use the website or services offered by Studdex.com to submit any individually identifiable information about themselves.

What Type of Information Do We Collect?

studdex.com does not collect any personally identifiable information about you other than information that you choose to submit to us, such as your e-mail address, name and address, etc., for example, when you apply to the exchange program or free-mover program of an university through this website or you use or apply to other services through our website.

studdex.com also may automatically collect aggregate information about the use of our site, including, but not limited to, which pages are most frequently visited, how many visitors we receive daily, how long visitors stay on each page, how often the individual user visits our website, how many visitors click on each individual university profile, etc.

How Do We Use the Information?

We do not use your email address or other personally identifiable information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent, except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. We may, however, use your email address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major studdex Site changes or for customer service purposes).

We use both your personally identifiable information and certain non-personally-identifiable information (such as anonymous user usage data, cookies, IP addresses, browser type, clickstream data, etc.) to improve the quality and design of the studdex Sites and to create new features, promotions, functionality, and services by storing, tracking, analyzing, and processing user preferences and trends, as well as user activity and communications.

What happens to uploaded content?

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose online (on discussion boards, in messages and chat areas, city information, within your playback or profile pages, etc.) becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others.

• Non-Account Activity.You can search for content like universities, forum discussions, cities, university’s programs etc. without having a studdex-Account. You can also contact us about a particular program or content without having a studdex Account.
• Account-Related Activity.Certain other activities on studdex—like adding content, writing posts, applying to university’s programs etc.—require you to have a studdex Account. We ask for some personal information when you create a studdex Account, including your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account from unauthorized access.

You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the studdex Sites, in which case you can still search for content  and explore the studdex Sites, but studdex may not be able to provide certain services to you.

You may update or correct your personal profile information and email preferences at any time by visiting youraccount profile page.

If you submit personally identifiable information to us through the studdex Sites, we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the general and personalized features and functionality of the studdex Sites, and to process any flagging activity or correspondence you send to us.

Your account name (not your email address) is displayed to other Users when you edit content or send messages through the studdex Sites and other Users can contact you through messages and comments. Any content that you submit to the studdex Sites may be redistributed through the internet and other media channels, and may be viewed by the general public.

Third-Party Services

studdex.com uses the services of www.statravel.com and www.dr-walter.com (“Services”). These Services may receive information from or about visitors to studdex.com or communications between the studdex.com site and those visitors.  Your use of studdex.com constitutes your specific and unconditional consent to and authorization for these Services’ access to, receipt, storage, use, and disclosure of any and all such information, consistent with the respective Service’s own privacy policies and procedures.

How does studdex partner with ad networks?

studdex allows other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within the studdex Sites.  These third-party ad servers, ad networks or universities use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on the studdex Sites. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content you see.

studdex does not provide any personally identifiable information to these third-party ad servers, ad networks or universities without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. However, please note that if an advertiser asks studdex to show an advertisement to a certain audience (for example, men ages 18-34) or audience segment (for example, men ages 18-24 who have viewed certain ads) and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser, ad-server or university may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach. The advertiser/university may also use information regarding your use of the studdex Sites, such as the number of times you viewed an ad (but not any personally identifiable information), to determine which ads or programs to deliver to you.

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks (see links below) for more information on their practices and for instructions on how to opt-out of certain practices. studdex' privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites. Any data obtained by third-party ad servers subsequently shared with studdex is maintained and dealt with by studdex in accordance with this privacy policy.

How does studdex partner with universities?

studdex partners with universities from all around the world to promote their exchange and free-mover programs within the studdex Sites.  studdex may use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of these program display advertisements and to personalize the programs content you see.

studdex does not provide any personally identifiable information to universities without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. However, please note that if an university  asks studdex to show program information to a certain audience (for example, men ages 18-34) or programs) and you respond to that program the university may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach. The university may also use information regarding your use of the studdex Sites, such as the number of times you viewed a program (but not any personally identifiable information), to determine which ads or programs to deliver to you.

studdex' privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such universities. Any data obtained by universities subsequently shared with studdex is maintained and dealt with by studdex in accordance with this privacy policy.

With Whom Will We Share Information?

We will share personally identifiable information we collect about you only with the above mentioned Third-Party Services.

However, we may disclose information about you if we have a good-faith belief that we are required to do so by law or legal process, to respond to claims, or to protect the rights, property or safety of studdex.com, its users, or others.

We Will Delete Personally Identifiable Information We Had Collected About You If You Ask Us To Do So

You have always the right to demand that we delete personally identifiable information we had collected about you. In this case we will delete all data of or about you from our records / database, unless law or legal process says or demands otherwise (see last paragraph).

What about Updates and Revisions of our Privacy Policy?
