We are just about to plan a big advertisement campaign in Germany and guess what happens if you want to go and book the billboards at the relevant street intersections: the billboard agent STROER, who is renting them out in association with other billboard vendors has a little paragraph saying that SOME of their associates require an visual approval in advance…
Some of the billboards belong to the Deutsche Bahn (German public railway) and as they are state-owned they will not advertise anything which criticizes our lovely country called Germany. Call it democracy, we call it censorship, because as far as I remember these guys are being paid by our taxes and it is our right to criticize and we have freedom of speech granted by the German constitution. I keep you posted and we wonder why no journalists so far have ever taken this issue into account…is it because their editorial rooms are controlled by advertisers. Let me know what you think and share it with people who are interested.

I think it sounds very interesting. But this post lacks relevant information. What exactly where you trying to ad for and which paragraph did Stroer use to block out interested customers.

I am from Brazil, a country with approximately 12 million persons of German descent, this makes them about 6.6% of the total population of the country.
I am also little upset with the German government, more especifically regarding Its visa policies. I have recently applied for a work Visa in Germany and I’ve done everything
accordingly to what has been asked by the German Consulate in São Paulo, but my Visa has been denied and the reason was not even mentioned in the deny letter.
It’s odd that We hear about illegal immigrants going abroad everyday, but when one tries to do things accordingly to the legislation, presenting all the required papers, the Visa ends-up denied and no reason is given. I wanted to go to Germany to gain experience and learn about German culture and language, but I have been turned down by the German government. My great-grandparents which came from Germany would probably be more upset then me if they were still alive.
Brazil, a developing country, has given amnesty to all its illegal immigrants in 2009, despite all the social challenges the country faces, the immigrants were once again welcomed in this land.
It didn’t not surprise me that the German public railway won’t advertise things which criticizes its government.
