The Zhejiang University of Technology is located in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Today we would like to introduce our 11^th Chinese partner. The Liaoning Medical University (LMU), founded in 1946, is located in the city of Jinzhou in LiaoningProvince, five hours east of Beijing. During its development over the past 61years, the university has become a leading provincial university with its main educational focus being on the medical sciences.

Some of the billboards belong to the Deutsche Bahn (German public railway) and as they are state-owned they will not advertise anything which criticizes our lovely country called Germany. Call it democracy, we call it censorship, because as far as I remember these guys are being paid by our taxes and it is our right to criticize and we have freedom of speech granted by the German constitution. I keep you posted and we wonder why no journalists so far have ever taken this issue into account…is it because their editorial rooms are controlled by advertisers. in the next couple of weeks we are going to introduce a series of language schools that only recently decided to joined the studdex network to get more visibility. Some of the language Schools already started offering their languages courses on the studdex platform and soon new language programs will be added.

Last week once again a Chinese University agreed on collaborating with studdex. This is great news for studdex and our students as the demand to study in China keeps increasing.

The beginning of the week couldn’t have started better for studdex. Last week after receiving green light from the Whitecliffe College of Arts this week we got another Arts and Design Academy. I am referring to the NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano – an innovative Arts and Design Academy located in the center of the country’s fashion industry, Milan. NABA is one of Italy’s leading design schools and was formed in 1980 by a group of artists who aimed at challenging the rigid academic tradition by introducing new visions and languages closer to contemporary artistic practice and the creative professions. NABA is an Academy within the Higher Education Fine Arts System (AFAM) that is a department of the Italian universities governed by the Ministry of Education and Research (MUR) including the Italian institutions in charge of providing education in the field of arts, performing arts and music.

NABA offers Bachelor and Master of Arts Degree Programs, Academic Master Programs, Diploma Program and Semester Abroad Programs held in English that are accredited by the US University System in the fields of Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Design, Fashion, Media Design and Theatre Design.

Today studdex is very delighted to give all our New Zealand lovers some great news..and it gets even better for those passionate about Arts. Just a few days after our CEO, Felix returned from his trip to New Zealand and Down Under to represent studdex at the Anza workshop, we already got our first partner institution in New Zealand. This is truly amazing! I am referring to the Whitecliffe College of Arts, situated in Auckland who decided to join the studdex network to attract more international students. In fact it is one of the key universities of higher learning in China with special focus to the technical disciplines.

Founded in 1960 and renamed from Nanjing Institute of Meteorology in 2004, the university has a multi-discipline layout and is granted to confer bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. With a scientific research center for post-doctoral students, the university enjoys a complete educational system. The education and diploma are widely recognized around the world. The university will stick to the guideline of internationalization and keep the educational quality as its lifeline. Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology—the home of advanced scientists and administrators—cordially welcomes all overseas students. A total of 42 specialties for bachelors are offered, which include key disciplines in both state and provincial levels and cover fields of science, engineering, management, literature, economics, laws and agriculture. The academic level on atmospheric science ranks the top in China and enjoys a high reputation in the world. Three key disciplines of Atmospheric Science, Information Science and Technology, and Environmental Science and Engineering are established in recent years based on the preponderant specialties.

In our last post we already gave our users a small hint regarding our upcoming partnerships and that in the next few weeks studdex will be very active on the Chinese market. Therefore it is no surprise that at the beginning of this week the prestigious Shanghai University joined the studdex network. This is once again a huge boost for the young studdex team as it is the proof that slowly also the “big fishes” are joining our network to make it the central platform for higher education.

The Shanghai University is one of the key institutions of higher learning in Shanghai directly under the Municipal Government and on the list of national “Project 211″ in China. The president of the university is Professor WeiChang Chien, famous scientist of China, the Former Vice-chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Conference of China and an Academician of Chinese academy of Science.

Shanghai University is a comprehensive university with rich diversity of disciplines, it consists of 20 colleges and schools ,2 university-supervised departments and 1 physical education department at the moment, offering 58 undergraduate programs, 86 postgraduate programs, 20 doctoral programs and 9 post-doctoral programs covering Dynamic, Metallurgy, Electronic & Communication, Mathematics , Materials Science and Information Engineering. In addition, we also have 14 key disciplines and 3 key laboratories on the municipal level have been set up in three batches. It has a faculty of 5,484 , among whim more than 380 are full professors and more than 780 are associate professors. Of these professors, 7 are academicians of Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering, 175 doctor supervisors and 13 national-leveled young specialists of science and technology of their achievements.

The rise of China is one of the most important events in the development of the world economy in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The main reason is that the country is a demographic giant and, should the trend continue into the coming decades, it will significantly change the economic map of the planet. We at studdex also had to take into account this rapid growth which is reflected by the huge demand of Chinese students to study outside China. In addition to that China becomes more and more an interesting country for a Study Abroad Semester. The number of non-Chinese people learning Mandarin Chinese has soared to 40 million recently. Therefore it is no surprise that Chinese universities are starting to become more and more appealing to students from all over the world.

For this reason the studdex team is very happy to have finally set foot on Chinese soil and to proudly announce a new partnership with the Ningbo University, located in the historical and cultural city of Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, bordering on the East China Sea. Ningbo University is a dynamic, young and comprehensive university with a wide range of disciplines: economics, law, education, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine and management. It is one of the key institutions of higher learning of Zhejiang Province. The university consists of 17 faculties and colleges which offers 57 bachelor’s programs and 27 master’s degree programs. The number of its full-time undergraduate students amounts to 16,626, along with 222 in-residency postgraduates. The number of the teaching and administrative staff reaches 2,033 of which 1078 are teachers, with 4 academicians, 141 full professors and 453 associate professors.

Latin America continues to be a very interesting place for studdex. In fact, after the first Argentine university joined our network last week, this week it is the turn of the first Peruvian university. The Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, located in the capital of Peru has only been established in 1996. Despite this young age the university made big progress in the last few years raising considerable interest among local and international students.

The university’s main commitment is to form professional leaders, highly qualified and prepared to thrive in an environment of constant change that demands of graduates both theoretical knowledge and concrete problem-solving skills.  At UPC the student is not merely an observer in the classroom, he or she is the protagonist. Today the studdex team has come together and had a barbecue as the sun was really nice. These get together are also always a good time to reflect upon the team and the product. Like everyone in our stage we currently experience growth and still need to adapt more and more to our users. Your suggestion is what makes studdex better. Today, after just a few weeks we have entered the US market the whole studdex Team is overwhelmed to announce our first partnership with an American University. It’s the Maryville University located in the West County, just a few miles away from St. Louis which trusted in our project and thus joined the studdex network of accredited Universities. This is great news for our students as we are getting bombarded with requests from students willing to study in the States. Soon all the study programs of the Maryville University can be found on our website and students will be able to apply directly online to our new US-Partner.

One of the oldest private institutions in the St. Louis, Missouri region, Maryville was originally an academy for young women, before becoming a four-year college in 1923 and a university in 1991. In 1968, a watershed year at Maryville, the University became a co-educational institution. In 1972, Maryville’s Centennial year, ownership of the college was transferred from the Religious of the Sacred Heart to a lay board of trustees. In fact, during the weekend the University of Teramo, located in the center of Italy agreed on a collaboration with studdex.
