Why is statistics necessary?
Statistics and statistical expertise is necessary in many area of human activity such as government policy making, in industry and business and for smooth operation in the public sector. The main aim of statistic studies at the university level is to give students a strong foundation in statistical methods, practice and theory. Some of the subjects covered include descriptive statistics, business statistics and applied statistics. In most universities, applicants for the master degree program are required to have completed a bachelor degree in mathematics or a related field. Many universities offer study abroad programs where a student can opt to take part of their studies at a foreign university.
